What is the best use of Horadric cube? ›

The Diablo 2 horadric cube is a valuable tool you'll unlock during Act 2. You can't miss it as you have to use it to complete a couple of quests later on. But aside from that, you can use it to craft items, transmute runes and gems into more powerful versions, and add sockets to your gear.

Character Classes

In Median each of the original 7 classes from classic D2 are preserved. They are the Amazon, the Assassin, the Barbarian, the Druid, the Necromancer, the Paladin, and the Sorceress.

Rune Upgrade Horadric Cube Recipes. You can create a higher-level Rune by combining 3 Runes of the next lower type -- ie. three El (#1) runes will create one Eld (#2) runes.

If the cube isn't found in either the inventory or in the stash, the cube can be dropped again. The Council Members in Travincal tend to drop it under these circ*mstances. The item gets 1-6 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. For example, if you have an item that can only have 2 sockets, there's a 5/6 chance of getting 2 sockets and a 1/6 chance of getting 1 socket.

Transmute three Thul runes and a chipped topaz to create one Amn rune. Transmute a magic amulet, a jewel, a Thul rune, and a perfect sapphire to create a crafted Hit Power amulet.

The Paladin is the most powerful out of all playable Diablo 2: Resurrected classes. He has access to a variety of magical and melee skills. On top of that, he is also adept at using ranged weapons and spells. The most popular Paladin build by far is the Hammerdin.

Fauztinville is also a really good place to farm runes in general because that's the only place 3 of the highest runes can drop anyway. Tenganze is where you farm Elemental Runes. Other than that you can farm runes while doing any general farming like K3K or Duncraig.

The best farming spot for that is the incredibly monster-dense Secret Cow Level, which you can access through a Red Portal by cubing together a Wirt's Leg and a Tome of town portal in Act1. Normal Cows (Hell Bovines) have an 1:730k chance to drop a Ber rune, and an 1:2560k chance to drop a Zod rune.

The Gold Scarab will boost the amount of Runes gathered when equipped by 20%. This effect can also stack with the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot's increased rune gathering ability.

Removing Runes in Diablo II: Resurrected

You can remove Runes (and Gems and Jewels) from socketed gear by using the following Horadric Cube recipe. This is permanent and will destroy everything in ALL your sockets. Insert items into sockets carefully, and be sure keeping the armor is worth the cost of removing them.

The Horadric Cube is a quest item obtained in Act II which can be used to complete several quests. In addition to that task, it can be also used as a permanent backpack to store additional items and create new ones. Place the Horadric Cube in your inventory.

You can use the Horadric Cube's magical powers to Transmute items into a new item. Simply place the items into the Cube and click the Transmute button. The following upgrades will only work on Single-Player, open, or Ladder! Rare Items can only have one socket.

Perfect Gems are often used as currency and are used in several Horadric Cube recipes. Some such as Diamonds with Resist All and Topaz with Magic Find retain some utility even into the highest levels. Unlike Runes, there is no special sequence you can use with Gems to make them more powerful.
